Kevin O Loughlin - Yoga Teacher

I have been has been attending Yoga classes since 1996 under the guidance of my Yoga teacher and friend, AnnMarie Hynes. With her encouragement and support I started my teacher training course with YTI in 2004. Since then I have been teaching Yoga in Tallaght and Leixlip.
During my training I have had the pleasure of attending workshops with Jenny Beeken and Victor Van Kooten and use their books as a basis of my practice. Their methods of teaching yoga, along with the insightful teachings of my teacher, AnnMarie Hynes, form the basis of my practice and hence my classes. I believe that all our tightness and inflexibility in our bodies and minds can be let go through awareness and a simple out breath.
More recently I have had the pleasure of helping Transition Year students with an introduction to Yoga.
Hi,
my name is AnnMarie Hynes, I am 52 years old. I have been married to
Pat for the last 28 years and we have four children. My love affair
with Yoga an Meditation began back in the 70's but it was not until the
early 90's when my then lovely Yoga teacher Geraldine Connelly of the
IYA gave me a copy of 'Yoga of the HEART' by Jenny Beeken, that I felt
I applied to be considered for a course with Jenny Beeken based on 'Yoga Awareness for Teachers' and much to my delight, after an interview, was accepted. The course grew me in ways I could never had imagined. The approach to Yoga was fresh and worked on so many different levels, both outer and inner. As in the case of all development that work on a physical, emotional and mental nature, parts of the work were immensely enjoyable, other parts were painful and in your face, very much how life is I guess. Well I finally got my teachers diploma, then my practice really started and continues to this present day.
My interest in meditation and always been linked into my Yoga practice. As a practising Buddhist for a number of years, now I have been blessed to study and retreat with great meditation masters, i.e., Dali Lama and Sogal Rinpoche (author of the book Tibetan Book of Living and Dying). Sogal is my route Dharma teacher to this present day.
I believe Yoga and meditation is for everyone young or old, bodies and minds that are fit and well, and bodies and minds that have been through a lot. These ancient practices help us gather the scattered aspect of ourselves into union, wherein lies all our strength.
